A round, artist's pencil containing a 3.8mm colour strip made from natural and synthetic pigments. They respond well when used in conjunction with soft drawing or pastel papers of average roughness. They offer soft, smooth laydown of light resistant colour which is well suited to portrait or landscape work. They are perfectly blendable, extendible, soluble and must be fixed with a fixative. 
Cretacolor Pastel Pencils come in 72 colours which can be smudged and mixed together to create a huge range of tints and the pencils can be sharpened to a point for more detailed work. Beautiful, smooth, soft pastel pencils!
